A viva of thesis in Field Crops Sciences
Thursday 21. April/2022
A viva exam was held in the college of agriculture in presence of the college’s dean Proff. Dr. Idham Ali Abd, where the MSc. student Raoof Majeed Hameed defended his thesis entitled Effect of activation with nano iron and storage time on viability, emergence, growth and yield of sorghum bicolor L. The viva committee was:
1- Assist .Prof. Dr. Hassan Hadi Mustafa / chief of the committee - external examiner.
2- Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rajab Mohammed / internal examiner
3- Assist. Prof. Dr. Imad Mahmood Ali / internal examiner
4- Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Chyad Ali / supervisor
The study aimed to Knowing the effect of activating sorghum seeds stored with chelated iron nanoparticles to reduce the time between sowing and seedling emergence. As it leads to acceleration of germination, emergence and homogeneity of seedlings, as well as improving field establishment (obtaining optimum plant density) under a wide range of environmental conditions, reducing jungle competition and damage to other agricultural pests, and early and homogeneity in maturity, which results in reducing losses during harvest and thus increasing the yield. Results were important in such field of study and valuable. Thesis accepted with minor corrections. congratulations for the student and his supervisor
