Training Course / Agricultural Unit

 The training course organized by the Agricultural Unit in our college was launched at the College of Agriculture. The course was dedicated to the officials of the agricultural units in the university colleges under the title (Breeding and propagation of interior landscaping plants (shade plants) suitable for urban agriculture inside buildings and offices). This course was organized in implementation of the directives of Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nida, the respected President of Anbar University, and under the supervision and direct presence of Professor Dr. Adham Ali Abdul, the respected Dean of the College. The first day of the course included introductory lectures on the most important types of shade plants used in interior landscaping, with a focus on choosing the most appropriate types for the urban work environment and growth conditions inside buildings. The course also witnessed the practical part as an actual part of the training course through carrying out planting and rotation operations and the method of propagating plants through the stem and leaf parts, as well as the offshoots of the selected plants and choosing effective concentrations of plant growth regulators for their propagation and rooting. Then, field planting was carried out for a number of unit officials. Another practical aspect was also conducted on how to prevent potential infections using fungicides before The course involved conducting cultivation operations to eliminate fungal pathogens, especially since these plants will grow in semi-shaded environments. It also included creating a suitable nutrient medium for plant growth and selecting the appropriate irrigation times for each plant. Attendees praised the scientific and organizational efforts expended during the course, emphasizing the importance of this type of training in developing the agricultural landscape within the university and supporting the concepts of sustainable urban agriculture.
